My mother is Cherokee, and my father is of European (Irish, Scot, Welsh, British, French) and Cherokee ancestry. While I embrace my Cherokee heritage and celebrate my European roots, I am, first and foremost, an unhyphenated “American” of the United States of America.

The jewelry set I am wearing is by EarthStones. It’s a vintage set called “SOAR.” It is one of the most precious pieces in my collection. I don’t wear it out, as the complexity is downright outrageous. Still, I love it, and wear it for photos. Maybe one day, it will be reproduced in mesh?
