LumiPro, Manifeste The Art of Posing

The following is taken directly from Luther’s Gorean Essays…The proper role of free women in Gorean society is one of the most misunderstood aspects of Gor.  This misunderstanding is perpetuated by several factors.  First, the rhetoric in much of the books states that all women should be slaves. Second, a cursory reading of the novels shows that basically all of the major free women characters, who are often haughty, end up as slaves.  Third, there is the popular myth that male dominance is absolute on Gor.  These three views combine to skew one’s view of free women on Gor.  It is only through a deeper study of the novels do you better understand the complexity of the role of free women on Gor.  They are far more than potential slaves.

The more I read about free women through Luther’s essays on all things Gorean it made me realize that entering Second Life Gor as such may be the role to play.  Free women  are accorded respect, courtesy and honor in Gor. Henry also concurs that entering SL Gor as a free woman will allow me to relax, observe and learn.

There are no plans to make another avatar for RP.  I have Kat, bringing her out for the occasional post and that is enough.  Besides, keeping up with Cougar is a full-time job as it is lol.  The times that I do enter Gor with Henry at my side (my Free Companion/Partner), I will have the name ‘Felina’ and will be a merchant of fine fabrics and furs.   Henry suggested a bit of background information in my profile picks as to my role in Gor as well.

So far this is my one and only outfit for Gor.  Eventually as a well to do merchant I shall have more. The outfit I wear is from Arwen’s Creations, the same place I have purchased most of my Native American outfits.  While I haven’t been able to wear some of the outfits for posts as many contain system layers, I was pleased to find out when getting this outfit that Arwen Serpente is in the process of adding appliers.  I even picked up a few that were available for some of the outfits I already have.

The mesh gown is ‘Spellbinder’ and does not have appliers…yet.  Getting a bit creative, the undershirt I wear is an applier that you can mix and match (having a HUD with multiple colors) and works well with this outfit.  The ‘Grace’ hood, underhood and veil were worn in this post.  As you can see I am covered from head to toe, exposing only my eyes as only a proper free woman of Gor would.  Though not shown I wear simple leather flats under my clothing.

I am still in the process of hunting down a complete set of the books of Gor.  There is no way I can answer questions about Gor with any certainty as I am learning myself.  If you are interested in learning more about Gor I would suggest you start here at Luther’s Gorean Essays. While I realize that John Norman’s Gor and Second Life’s Gor society have differences, I am still excited and intend to post every now and then about my experiences. At least I hope to have a better understanding.  Be kind to one another.  TWMA♥
