The Music Room at Lost Horizon, Azumi

The 19th is your last opportunity to visit Lost Horizon’s Open House before it reverts back to a private region. Your personal limo.

This is the first interior shot shared since completing the renovation, and it also happens to be the first room decorated once the landscaping was finished. The inspiration for the fireplace insert I borrowed from a photo Hap shared with the Apple Fall Group. It was strange as I was a bit frustrated experimenting with prims to make a custom insert for the Apple Fall Fireplace when she shared her flickr link. Thank you Hap. Credits will soon follow as I plan to do an in-depth shoot of this room after the holidays. In the meantime, if you have a question regarding the decorating please feel free to contact me.

Lost Horizon Reborn

It’s been a long process and I can see light at the end of the tunnel. Still much to do before Lost Horizon can be opened to the public, but, I can now breathe easier as the bulk of work is complete. Never did I imagine it would take three months to complete, but then again when starting this project I was determined to take my time and do this the way I envisioned the reborn Lost Horizon to be…no matter how long it took.

The upstairs of the house is finally being decorated which I failed to mention is the Redgrave Greystone Mansion. It’s a large house and lends itself to many decorating possibilities and I have been having fun playing with paint on the walls :). I’ve strived to give Lost Horizon a lived in look as this is where a large percentage of my time online is spent so it’s more about my personal taste than decorating for the masses. Having lived in only two other homes before this one, Greystone Mansion is completely different, but still another side of me. Once open to the public it is my hope after touring it provides you with a smidgen of inspiration. Again, no fall or winter at Lost Horizon. I get my fill in 1st…gags.

As far as credits go for this post, I shall list the creators/builders/designers I have used in the above photograph and will do an itemized listing at a later date.
